It provides a full cycle of services, from design and engineering to manufacturing, testing, and the subsequent operation and maintenance of the rocket and space complexes it creates
The Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure. Initially, its staff numbered only 75 people. Later, TsENKI incorporated enterprises that stood at the origins of the rocket and space industry: the Academician V. P. Barmin Research Institute of Launch Complexes, the Design Bureau of Transport and Chemical Engineering, the Academician V. I. Kuznetsov Research Institute of Applied Mechanics, and the Motor design bureau. Over the years, TsENKI specialists have supported rocket launches from Earth’s first and largest spaceport, Baikonur, from the Vostochny Cosmodrome, and from Plesetsk, the first State Test Cosmodrome of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Today, TsENKI JSC is Roscosmos’s main organization for operating Russia’s spaceports, and TsENKI’s main facility, the Vostochny Cosmodrome, is one of the largest-scale projects, one that will give Russia independent access to space.
