1C:Accounting 8.3 in 4 months!
Objectives
The main goal of the project was to merge all accounting databases (outdated, heterogeneous configurations) into one based on 1C:Accounting 8.3. This will later make it possible to introduce unified catalogs across the Group’s companies
Timeline
4 months
Specifics
A large construction group of companies with a staff of 600. Monthly billing, non-standard billing systems, and different accounting requirements depending on each company’s industry focus and history. A large number of customers (companies and individuals)

Before
The out-of-the-box functionality of the standard 1C:Accounting 8.3 configuration was not enough, because the companies used different analytics schemes, and the process for loading consumer data had to be rebuilt (the data processors that automated data entry in the old databases).
The existing functionality had to be transferred so that it would work in the new configuration.
The EFS system used across the group of companies required changes to the synchronization rules for heterogeneous catalogs (the old databases used different catalog synchronization options).1
A unified procedure for synchronizing counterparty and contract catalogs had to be established for all organizations.
Payroll is calculated in a customized 1C:ZUP.
A separate synchronization mechanism between 1C:ZUP and 1C:Accounting had to be built
Some organizations used non-standard analytics in purchase/sales documents.
Documents had to be customized so that additional analytics could be entered. The printed forms of documents sent to customers also had to be customized to include the additional analytics.
What was done
- Migration of master data (including non-standard catalogs)
- Migration of opening balances as of January 1, 2020
- Upgrade and configuration of existing data processors to work in the new system
- Connection and configuration of the new system to work with the group EFS, including KSK and KSD setup
- Configuration of shared use of heterogeneous catalogs
- Synchronization of 1C:Accounting 8.3 with the non-standard 1C:ZUP system
- Customization of printed forms for customers
Results
The finance departments of utility companies in various sectors (hot water supply, cold water supply, wastewater disposal, heating for real estate properties, equipment rental accounting) now operate fully on a single product, 1C:Accounting 8.3.
The client received a multifunctional, modern, unified accounting system. This greatly simplified the work of both the accounting department and the economic planning department. Many typical errors were eliminated, including those caused by manual entry of source data.
It is now possible to build and standardize management accounting (the next project) using the data already in the accounting databases
Conclusions
The system meets the business requirements and **has a flexible architecture that will allow the company to scale in the near future**. The system has been put into full production use. Several more companies within the PIK-Resurs group are to be added to the common system in the near future.
