1C:ERP Holding Management 3.3: what the new version offers manufacturing holdings

On December 30, 2025, version 3.3 of the 1C:ERP Holding Management configuration was released — more than 100 enhancements focused on three issues that are currently pain points for any large manufacturing holding: budgeting and limit control; liquidity and foreign currency payment management; and procurement at a time when former suppliers are leaving and new ones offer varied and often unfavorable terms.

We reviewed the release from the standpoint of what will actually be useful to clients.

What has actually changed

Corporate budgeting. The pivot table and report builder have been updated — these are what a holding’s CFO works with every day, not just the methodologist who configured the system during implementation. Integration with cloud forecasting has been added: some of the routine work of building forecast scenarios can now be taken off analysts’ plates.

Limit and procurement control. The release adds more flexible budget control limit settings and unified procurement control across the entire holding — meaning you no longer need to configure rules separately for each subsidiary and then reconcile discrepancies manually. The corporate procurement module now supports alternative offers and evaluation with a bid comparison sheet — which is especially relevant now that some items and suppliers have changed and the old approach of choosing a supplier on a single criterion, price, no longer works.

Treasury. Automation of foreign currency payments and “intelligent selection of the optimal chain” for a payment — in essence, the system itself suggests which bank and which route to use for a foreign currency payment, taking current restrictions and exchange rates into account. For a holding with several legal entities and foreign currency contracts, this noticeably reduces the workload on the treasury and the risk of manual error.

IFRS accounting. Support for a fourth analytical dimension (subconto), new journal entry types, and improved consolidated reporting — relevant for holdings that keep parallel IFRS accounts for owners, banks, or foreign partners.

What about migration?

Version 3.3 requires the 1C:Enterprise platform version 8.3.27 or later. Upgrading from 3.2 is done through a standard configuration update that preserves accumulated data — this is not a migration from scratch but an update within the usual support cycle. At the same time, 1C has promised to support version 3.2 until April 2027, releasing updates for both versions in parallel — so there is no need to upgrade right away if you recently completed a major implementation and your team is not ready for yet another update.

Our take

In our experience supporting 1C:ERP implementations at holdings, the most common reason an upgrade to a new version gets postponed for years is not the migration itself (as a rule, it is standard and does not require rewriting customizations from scratch) but the fear that customizations accumulated over the years will “break.” In practice, the risk drops significantly if, before the upgrade, you run a full audit of non-standard customizations and determine in advance which of them 1C has already covered with out-of-the-box functionality in 3.3. For example, some custom-built reports on budget control and foreign currency payments may well have replicated exactly what is now included in the standard product.

If you are on version 3.1 or 3.2 and considering an upgrade, it makes sense to start not with the update itself but with this kind of audit: it takes from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the volume of customizations, and immediately shows whether it is worth upgrading now or waiting for the next release.
