Migration from 1C:UPP
In March 2021, 1C announced that support for the 1C:Manufacturing Enterprise Management (1C:UPP) configuration would end by 2026. https://consulting.1c.ru/news/107035.html
The configuration has existed since 2004 and is an early form of ERP system. Its second generation, more advanced and built on accumulated experience, is 1C:ERP Enterprise Management. All innovations, international best practices, and new industry solutions are developed on the basis of 1C:ERP
As an outdated configuration, 1C:UPP has not been sold since 2018 https://consulting.1c.ru/news/33432.html and will stop being supported within the next couple of years.
What awaits companies that stay on 1C:UPP
- Functional modules have not been updated for several years and already lag far behind legal requirements (for example, the payroll and HR module when it comes to Form 6-NDFL personal income tax reporting)
- No industry support. Industry-specific functionality used to mean industry business practices built into application configurations; today, an industry solution is first and foremost about meeting regulatory requirements. Keeping these requirements up to date in your accounting is mandatory, not optional.
- Support for 1C:UPP costs almost twice as much as a comparable subscription for 1C:ERP.
- Person-hours spent manually tracking changes in legislation, writing technical specifications, and installing these updates on time so that the company does not incur fines later.
- For a smooth transition that does not disrupt the company’s operations, it should be planned at least 2 years in advance. Migration from 1C:UPP to 1C:ERP takes 1–3 years or more (for holding groups).
- With foreign vendors leaving the Russian market and companies switching to 1C across the board, the market now faces an acute shortage of specialists. Their cost has risen sharply, and the situation will only get worse in the coming years
Companies that put off moving to a modern ERP system are now forced to do so on the tightest possible timelines.
For more than 15 years, the Tsifrovizatsiya Proizvodstva (CIFP) Group has been delivering end-to-end corporate automation solutions based on 1C.
