1C price increases in 2024: what you need to know

In 2024, 1C Company, Russia’s largest developer of business automation software, is raising prices on its products twice.

From April 1, 2024, prices will go up for most standard and core solutions, as well as for almost all industry solutions. Mobile user seat licenses, client licenses, and PROF server licenses will also become more expensive

From July 1, 2024, prices will rise for

• Client licenses and CORP server licenses
• 1C:ERP Enterprise Management and 1C:ERP Holding Management

1C Company itself is asking its partners to inform users and to recommend that they not postpone purchases and buy products at current prices.

The company advises against waiting until the last minute, since the product price will be calculated as of the shipment date, not the order date.

The developer of Russia’s most widely used software is revising its prices for the second year in a row. At the same time, it points out that before this it had not raised prices for 3–6 years. This year, as in 2023, the increase will take place in 2 stages.

Since 1C does not explain the reasons for the current price increase, we asked analysts for their opinion.

“The price increase for 1C products has caused outrage and backlash among most users. The vendor is accused of abusing its monopoly position. However, if you look at the issue across the entire IT market, the picture becomes clearer. Prices for products and services are rising in every segment of the IT industry. The average increase ranged from 8 to 13 percent in 2023, and the trend continues. This is explained by several key factors: 

1. Sanctions, of course, which have strongly affected import substitution of various kinds of equipment and even software.
2. High inflation and increased capital investment by market players.
3. Rising pay for IT professionals. Job seekers in IT keep raising their salary expectations. Over the past year, the expectations of Russians looking for IT jobs grew by 18%, and specialists’ salaries have caught up with those of directors and managers, especially in the regions.
4. Another important factor is the continuous expansion of 1C product functionality, which automatically increases the cost of the company’s intangible assets and products.”
